About the Foundation

The Caprock High School Class of 1989 held a golf tournament in 2009 as their 20-year reunion. It was at that event that a scholarship was first awarded to a CHS senior as a gift from the alumni. The group decided to continue hosting events and awarding scholarships each year after. As the events and scholarship funds grew, The Caprock Alumni Scholarship Foundation was officially established in 2021. In addition to providing scholarships to graduating seniors of Caprock High School, The Foundation also supports local non-profits that feed into the Caprock Cluster.

When you give to The Caprock Alumni Scholarship Foundation, you have the power to change the community for the better. To enable a student to become the first in their family to attend college. To equip the next generation of thoughtful leaders.

Where We Contribute

Higher Education Scholarships

We award scholarships to CHS graduating seniors with a 2.5 or higher GPA that demonstrate financial need, as well as exhibit good character, leadership and citizenship.

Donations

After scholarships are awarded, any remaining funds are donated to local non-profits that feed into the Caprock Cluster, including the Wesley Community Center and the Maverick Boys and Girls Club of Amarillo.

The Samantha
Stone Spirit Award

Each year, in memory of CHS graduate and scholarship recipient Samantha Stone, an outstanding CHS alumn or supporter is recognized for their contributions to The Foundation.
